3 Hour Tour and Surf Lessons

The Nantucket Surfari experience focuses on all aspects of surfing and ocean awareness and is designed to teach the novice or build on the skills of the more seasoned surfer. Not only will you gain confidence in surfing but also learn about ocean safety and etiquette. Join Christian, Raymond, Josh, Matt or Dave for a 3 Hour Tour or Hourly Lesson and let them share their passion and knowledge of surfing with you.

We will be opening for the 2008 season in May and going right through the end October to take you surfing!

NEW for 2008! Stand Up Paddle Surfing Lessons

ThIs summer Nantucket sUrfari will also be offering stand up paddle surfing lessons to those wanting to try something new. Learn the basics of this relatively new sport. Stand up paddle surfing, also known as beach boy surfing has its modern origins in 1960's Waikiki. The local beach boys would paddle out standing up on big longboards with cameras slung dry around their necks to take photos of tourists learning to surf. More recently Maui waterman like Laird Hamilton and Archie Kalepa have taken to SUP as a way to cross train for their extreme waterman exploits. SUPing has taken off in the last year or so as it is a new and fresh way to enjoy surfing and it also offers a vigorous core workout.

Stand up paddling can be done riding waves, flat water paddling or touring and also doing down wind runs. Anyway you cut it SUPing is a another great way to enjoy yourself in the ocean! Learn the basics from us as we provide a variety of SUBs (stand up boards) and paddles for your enjoymnt. Nantucket sUrfari will giving hourly lessons and 3 Hour Tours for your stand up paddling pleasure.

Nantucket sUrfari's 3 Hour Tour:

We will pick your party up from your home, hotel or yacht in the surf mobile, take you to the beach and supply everything you need to go surfing for the first time or the 500th time. Select from our quiver of boards or bring your own favorite stick! No matter what level you are from beginner to advanced you will enjoy the guided sUrfarI on one of Nantucket's beautiful beaches. Group size is dependent on individual ability and surf conditions. Reservations suggested.

Price - $189 for 2 people ($40 for each additional person up to a maximum of 6)

Private Lesson

We offer hourly privates lessons for kids and adults of all abilities. Private lessons are one on one and are recomended for first timers and surfers ten and under. We will meet you at the beach and provide all the equipment needed to get you out and surfing.

Price - $65 per person per hour

Group Lesson

We offer hourly group lessons for kids and adults of all abilities. We will meet you at the beach and provide all the equipment needed to get you out and surfing.

Price - $45 per person per hour

Cancellation Policy:

Please note that our lessons are not canceled for fog, rain or a chilly day. We will be getting wet in the water and we have wetsuits to keep warm! We will only cancel if the conditions are not suitable for surfing (because the waves are either flat or too big). If you must cancel please do so at least 24 hours in advance for hourly lessons and 48 in advance for "3 Hour Tours" or your credit card will be charged for the full amount of your lesson.
